Painting showing a couple worshipping the deity Shrinathji during the festival of Nanda. It is a rendition of a daily showing or darshan, sponsored or attended by the couple.
The Nanda festival commemorates the infant Krishna’s joyous reception by his adoptive mother and father, Yashoda and Nanda. The donors stand beside a Pichhawai, depicting Shrinathji. The figures of the donors have been cut out from photographs and pasted onto the scene.
This painting is produced by the Khubiram Gopilal studio, run by Khubiram and Gopilal Govardhanji of Nathdwara.
