Join us in honouring the birthday of Professor BN Goswamy, a distinguished art historian and a significant supporter of MAP. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy continues to inspire and influence the world of art history.
One of the leading Indian art historians, Professor BN Goswamy was a Professor Emeritus of Art History at the Panjab University, Chandigarh where he also played a pivotal role in the development of the Museum of Fine Arts.
His work covered a wide range of themes and has significantly influenced thinking on Indian painting. He was especially known for his scholarship on Indian miniatures and courtly painting, in particular Pahari paintings, a subject that he wrote extensively on.
