Shalinee Kumari is from the Madhubani district in Bihar, home to the celebrated Mithila art tradition. Trained at Mithila Kala Sansthan ‘Samidha’ (2002-2003), she was captivated by how this art form beautifully embodies the culture and rituals of the Mithila region. Though she works as a Social Studies teacher, Shalinee’s true passion lies in Madhubani painting—an art form through which she feels deeply connected to her heritage and cultural roots.
