Philip Tinari in conversation with Kamini Sawhney

This episode of MAP’s Director’s Cut series features Philip Tinari, Director of UCCA Center for Contemporary Art.

UCCA Center for Contemporary Art is one of China’s leading contemporary art institutions, committed to bringing the best in art to a wider audience. Having organised a wide range of exhibitions, public programmes, and research initiatives for more than one million visitors each year across three locations, UCCA works towards bringing China into the global cultural conversation through contemporary art. During Philip Tinari’s tenure, UCCA has mounted over seventy exhibitions and thousands of public programmes, bringing artistic voices (established and emerging, Chinese and international), to a wider set of audience.

The Director’s Cut series, anchored by MAP’s Director, Kamini Sawhney, offers a glimpse into how the institution of the museum is being reimagined and reinvented today. It presents a unique opportunity to hear from reputed practitioners in museums around the world, as they reflect on their institutional experiences, behind-the-scenes challenges, unique initiatives, and more.
