Join us for an immersive and accessible experience specially designed for people with visual disabilities at MAP’s Living Botanical followed by an interactive workshop with artist Mohit Mahato.

The session will begin with a guided walkthrough of the garden, where participants will experience and engage with a variety of plants through touch, smell, observation, and discussion. Following the walkthrough, Mohit will lead a workshop exploring plants in greater depth, including their behaviour, medicinal value, the types of soil they grow in, the climates they thrive in, and which parts of the plants are considered most useful or valuable.

Mohit will also share insights into his artistic practice and how nature influences his work. Drawing from his experience as an artist, he will speak about how he uses different parts of trees and plants within his art-making process, creating connections between ecology, material, texture, and artistic expression.

This session invites participants with visual disabilities to connect with nature not only through sensory exploration and learning, but also through creativity and artistic imagination.

Mohit Mahato

A visual artist whose practice engages human and more-than-human interactions in the  metropolitan landscape of Bengaluru, spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, and  printmaking including cyanotype and artist books. is work is deeply inspired by nature,  memory, and everyday emotional encounters within the city. He often collects fallen  flowers, seedpods, and found organic materials during his walks, using them as quiet  markers of time, care, and observation. Through his practice, Mohit reflects on  tenderness, displacement, and the fragile emotional connections between people, place,  and the living world around them.
