What goes on behind the scenes of an exhibition? Come find out in this guided tour of our latest exhibition, Chay Reds, Ferrous Black, where we focus on the meticulous process of textile conservation. Our conservators will share their expert insights into the techniques used to preserve and present these delicate artefacts. You’ll also have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations and ask questions about the challenges and processes of textile conservation.
This exhibition reveals the untold stories of Indian textiles found in Sri Lanka. Featuring exquisite Palampores and textile fragments, dating back to the 18th century. These once graced homes as well as sacred temples. Today, they serve as tools for storytelling, weaving together the rich and intricate history shared between two ancient cultures.
