A reflective and educational session designed for cisgender folks and allies to understand the lived realities of trans individuals and the shifting legal landscape in India. Hosted by MAP in collaboration with PeriFerry, this workshop deep dives into the 2026 Amendment Bill to bridge the gap between intent and impactful advocacy.

6:00 pm – 6:40 pm
A guided emotions check-in and context setting to understand the diversity of the trans community in India. This segment includes a timeline mapping of history and queer rights to ground participants in the current sociopolitical climate.
6:40 pm – 7:15 pm
A detailed breakdown of the Trans Amendment Bill 2026. Facilitators will lead a discussion on the implications of the bill, focusing on who is excluded, the challenges of pathologization in documentation, and the specific impacts on NGOs and workplace inclusion.
7:15 pm – 7:30 pm
The way forward: identifying actionable steps for allies and advocates followed by a grounding wrap up exercise to conclude the session.
