Art writer, curator and critic Trisha Gupta presents a selection of films about (and by) some of the country’s most remarkable visual visionaries, ranging from the Bengal School to the Progressives. Artists’ lives can tell you a great deal about their art — and sometimes things their art doesn’t tell you. We’ll also talk about how these forgotten classics from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) archives offer up a history of India’s relationship with modern art.
