From court dancer to feminist icon, the tawaif’s journey in Bollywood is multifaceted. This exhibition explores her transformation, from a figure steeped in devotion to kings and deities to a complex character who defies societal conventions. The quiz will cover themes such as the tawaif character in Hindi cinema, musical traditions deeply intertwined with the artistic legacy of the courtesans, facts on film ephemera, etc.
