Border & Fall
Join us as we celebrate the timeless artistry of the Indian sari with Border&Fall as we connect tradition and modernity through draping. This workshop is in conjunction with our ongoing exhibition, Chay Reds, Ferrous Black: The Untold Stories of Indian Trade Textiles in Sri Lanka, featuring kalamkari treasures like 18th-century palampores and the elegant Somana Tupppotiya, highlighting not only their functionality, but also their intricate designs.
This programme offers a two-part immersive experience – a screening of independent short films from The Sari Series: An Anthology of Drape, followed by a hands-on draping workshop inspired by the traditional styles of the Coromandel Coast.
Come celebrate the legacy of Indian sari draping and discover the stories woven into each fold.

This non-profit project, created by Border&Fall, with the lead patronage of Good Earth, includes over 80 how-to drape films and 3 independent art films.
