The Kanchana Chitra Ramayana is an illustrated manuscript commissioned by the ruler of Banaras, Udit Narayan Singh, in the late 1800s. It took 18 years to be completed and is an illustrated version of the Ramcharitmanas (a poem in Avadhi based on the Ramayana) which was composed by 16th century poet-saint Tulsidas.
