Join us for a label-making workshop inspired by our latest exhibition Ticket Tika Chaap. Textile labels, commonly know as Tickets, tikas, or chaaps were popular in India during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As some of the earliest forms of branding in India, these labels played a significant role in visual identity and trade.
The workshop will begin with a walkthrough introducing participants to these historical labels, followed by a hands-on making activity where they step into the role of a designer to create their own unique label.
Drawing inspiration from these historical objects, this workshop encourages participants to design their own versions of labels while exploring elements of branding and typography. Using readily available images, they will craft a label that represents the branding for a present-day product.
This event is fully booked.
