Adele Tan
In this session of our Deep Dive series with Adele Tan (Senior Curator, National Gallery Singapore), we delve into the life and works of Singapore-born British sculptor and printmaker Kim Lim (1936-1997), whose practice is receiving renewed attention in both the UK and Asia.
Using works in the collection of the National Gallery Singapore, Tan will discuss how different phases of the artist’s career and cultural influences can be read with and against the collecting approaches, presentational trajectories and strategies of the museum, which is now seeking to navigate pressures for new modes of decoloniality and positioning.
