This workshop conducted by The People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI) is for early stage professionals, aspiring journalists and individuals who work in communications. This session will explore a people-first approach in reporting which is a typical feature of PARI’s reportage – work which centres the everyday lives of everyday people through powerful storytelling.
The workshop conducted by Vishaka George, Senior Editor at PARI will cover reporting techniques including seeking informed consent, how to interview, taking photographs and videos, and lastly, creating a compelling narrative that foregrounds people’s voices. Editing examples will also be provided to conclude the session.
