Karshni
I Just Called to Say I Love You Call Me, Prasad Kumar Swain, 2008, Watercolour on paper, MAC.01847
Music meets us at particular moments of our lives–enters and helps make meaning. The raw material a musician works with creates a laboratory for feeling in time. It’s a momentary relief in feeling whatever you are feeling–love, heartbreak, confusion, hurt, joy… This is the nature of Karshni’s songs–sound that provides shelter. Her work discusses themes of ageing, gender and indulgence, each with ruthless candour.
Join us for a beautiful acoustic set by the artist on Valentine’s day at MAP’s auditorium.
Our restaurant will also be having a discount for all you valentines–come early grab a drink and a bite to eat–bring yourself, your partner, friends or family–celebrate the feeling of love and the many shapes it takes with MAP!
