So The Story Goes

Join us for these special drop-in sessions for a chance to get a closer look and understanding of unique photographs and postcards from MAP’s collections. The works on view relate to the Dancers in Art episode of MAP’s Museums Without Borders series. This episode, produced in collaboration with The Toledo Museum of Art, explores the agency of women in performing art, and how the idea of a “courtesan” changed over time with the rise of British power in India. 

MAP team members Priya Lewis and Khushi Bansal take you behind the scenes of the episode and walk you through the works displayed, discussing each object and allowing you to get a closer look at the story behind it. 

Linking collections globally, Museums Without Borders is a unique digital collaboration between MAP and institutions in India and across the world. Ranging from six to ten minutes, each episode in this series juxtaposes an artwork from MAP with an object from a partner museum exploring commonalities and differences in style, subject or narrative. 

We will host two sessions, one at 12:30 PM and another at 3:30 PM. Feel free to drop in at either.
