Join us for a walkthrough of our permanent exhibition VISIBLE/INVISIBLE with Arnika Ahldag from the curatorial team. The walkthrough will focus on photographic highlights and help locate the artworks within the larger theme of gender. The photographic works on display range from a 19th century album to studio photographs and the work of contemporary artists; creating new narratives and questioning the role of image making within the context of gender. The highlights will include the works of artists such as Pamela Singh, Chitra Ganesh, Anoli Perera and more.
VISIBLE/INVISIBLE explores the representation of women through artworks in our collection. It attempts to re-address preconceived notions of femininity and gender as a social construct through art history by providing a more inclusive understanding towards it.
