ಕುದುರೆ ಆಭರಣ
A marker of the importance of a ruler, horses were commonly used in rituals such as the ashvamedha yagya (a horse sacrifice ritual), wars and hunts. They were commonly adorned with jewellery such as this one, and with decorated saddles to further promote their importance in rituals and processions.
ಆಡಳಿತಗಾರನ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯ ಗುರುತಾದ ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಅಶ್ವಮೇಧ ಯಜ್ಞ (ಕುದುರೆ ಬಲಿಯ ಆಚರಣೆ), ಯುದ್ಧಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಟೆಯಂತಹ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಆಭರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಮೆರೆಸಲು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ ಜೀನುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
