Preparatory Drawings,Mysore Paintings

Mysore Paintings, as the name suggests originated around Mysore, Karnataka, and part of the school later flourished under the Vijayanagara Empire.

The preparatory drawings in this series depict stories from the Ramayana. Squirrel-hair brushes were used to draw outlines and for delicate work, but superfine lines required a brush made of the pointed blades of a special variety of grass. The sketches are in fragments, signifying the age and nature of these pieces.

ಮೈಸೂರು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು, ಹೆಸರೇ ಸೂಚಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ನಂತರ ಈ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವು ಕಾಲಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವರ್ಧಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿತು.

ಈ ಸರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಪೂರ್ವಸಿದ್ಧತಾ ರೇಖಾಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ರಾಮಾಯಣದ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಳಿಲಿನ ಕೂದಲನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕುಂಚಗಳನ್ನು ತುದಿರೇಖೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎಳೆಯಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾದ ವಿವರಗಳ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅತಿಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ರೇಖೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೊನಚಾದ ಎಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕುಂಚ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಇಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೇಖಾಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ತುಣುಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಅವುಗಳ ಕಾಲಾವಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
