While they started out controversially because of their vulnerability for misuse, they have also shown immense potential for applications that can transform a wide range of experiences. In this article, we take a closer look at a couple of promising examples from the museum space, and explore how cultural institutions can use this technology to create innovative, interactive and authentic experiences.”
