What is MAP?
The Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) will be south India’s first major private museum. Showcasing a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, popular prints, photographs and textiles, MAP’s mission is to take art and culture to the heart of the community, making it accessible to diverse audiences. While the physical museum is still under construction, MAP’s Digital Museum offers a range of online exhibitions, events, articles, workshops and other art experiences for audiences of all ages.
Where is MAP located?
The physical building of MAP will open to the public in December 2021 and it will be located in the heart of Bengaluru on Kasturba Road. The Museum will be located within an easy walking-distance of Cubbon Park, MG Road and Vidhana Soudha metro stations.
What are the opening timings at MAP?
The Museum is currently under construction and will open to the public in December 2021. The physical building of MAP will be open 6 days a week, from 10 am – 6pm.
Who is the Founder of MAP?
The Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) was founded in the year 2016 by Abhishek Poddar, one of India’s most prominent collectors.
How is the Museum governed?
MAP is a not-for-profit institution that currently receives no governmental funding and is a unit and major project of the Art & Photography Foundation. MAP is governed by its Board of Directors and advised by its International Advisory Committee.
Who is Abhishek Poddar?
Abhishek Poddar is the Founder of MAP. He is a businessman and a prominent collector and patron of the arts in India. He is involved in various family group companies with diverse interests ranging from trading and export, to tea, industrial explosives, travel and retail. Poddar also serves on the advisory committees of several cultural institutions including the Deccan Heritage Foundation and FIND (Foundation Inde-Europe de Nouveaux Dialogues or the India-Europe Foundation for New Dialogues) headquartered in Rome.

3. That any reproductions that accompany an article are not used for marketing or advertising purposes
