In a cluttered news landscape, dominated by men, emerges India’s only newspaper led by marginalised women. Armed with smartphones, wit and tenacity, chief reporter Meera and her journalists break traditions, be it on the frontlines of India’s biggest issues or within the confines of their homes, redefining what it means to be powerful.

Watch how the story unfolds in a special screening of the film Writing With Fire by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh, where ideas of resilience and sense of community are held together amid chaos and social unrest.

In this film, directors Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh explore the idea of truth, justice and the meaning of power, through the lens of an all-women’s newsroom.

Brought to you by OSCH @ MAP, AUD/VID is a series encouraging discovery of old and new music, film, video, sound art and media – looking at junctions of art, youth culture and audio-visual media. A step closer towards conscious consumption through listening, viewing and sharing together.

Open to people of all ages.
