Walkthrough of Dialogues in Stone

Join us in celebrating MAP’s one year anniversary with this interactive walkthrough as British artist Stephen Cox takes us through the narratives and meanings embedded within his stone sculptures, marking the end of this year-long exhibition that greets audiences as they enter the museum. 

Drawing from Cox’s observations of architectural sites and monuments in the region, Dialogues in Stone embodies mythical beings through minimalist forms. Cox’s sculptures are contemporary interpretations of goddesses, blending animal and human forms, a hybridity referenced in ancient Indian texts and one the artist has encountered in Middle Eastern, Egyptian, Greek and Roman iconography.
