Walkthrough of Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chitra Ramayana of Banaras

With two weeks to the closing of the Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chitra Ramayana of Banaras exhibition, join us for a series of interactive walkthroughs hosted by the MAP team and delve into Tulidas’ Ramcharitmanas; the various styles of miniature painting traditions in the early 19th century; and the historical context within which the manuscript was commissioned.

The walkthroughs will be conducted everyday (except Monday) from 27 February 2024 till 10 March 2024 at 3:00 PM IST.

Curated by the late Kavita Singh and Parul Singh, the exhibition, Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chitra Ramayana of Banaras, displays nearly 80 folios from the Kanchana Chitra Ramayana, or the Golden Illustrated Ramayana.
