There’s more to things than meets the eye — especially art. What we see is an amalgamation of contexts, symbols, ideas and more. Join MAP’s Curator, Kuzhali Jaganathan to take a deep dive into a folio from our ongoing exhibition Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chitra Ramayan of Banaras. Learn more about its context, narrative, artists and making — to gain further insight into what makes this manuscript unique.
We will host two mediated sessions, one at 3:00 PM and another at 5:00 PM. Feel free to drop in at either.
This event has been conceptualised as part of the exhibition, Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chitra Ramayana of Banaras. For the first time, this exhibition displays nearly 80 folios from this extraordinary illustrated manuscript of the Ramcharitmanas.
