From the 1950s, Parallel Cinema revolutionised the Indian film industry and paved the way for a unique cinematic language that blossomed in the 1970s and 1980s.

Join us for a two-day workshop as Abhinav Kandarp from Breakfast@Cinema helps us explore the various layers and complexities of this important juncture in Indian film history.

Through the workshop, Abhinav will take us through the history, key players, innovative techniques and important films that defined this influential movement. The workshop will look at the social and political context in which these films were made, and delve into the unique aesthetic and storytelling techniques that set them apart from mainstream Indian cinema.
