In an image-saturated world, what can a sensitivity to materiality teach us about art and life? Who does visual art include and exclude? In this workshop, we will approach the idea of narrative through collage in three dimensions—using paper clay and readymades, we’ll take a collaborative and relational approach to making our own bas-reliefs.
Participants are required to bring materials they would like to use in a collage. They are encouraged to bring items with a story!

This event is part of Beneath the Turning Sky programming.

Mira Brunner

Mira Brunner is a visual artist living in Bengaluru, India. She works across media and her practice functions as collage across dimensions. She’s interested in themes along the lines of time, money, death, and the long arm of the law, but she tries to keep it light. Her piece entitled “The Known Universe”, currently on view in “Beneath the Turning Sky” at the Museum of Art and Photography, is an exploration of the marks humans make on our world. She’s also an archivist, and currently works at QAMRA – the Queer Archive for Memory, Reflection, and Activism.
