Do you want to dive into the rich history of mica paintings from our recent exhibition – The Forgotten Souvenir and explore their creative essence? If yes, then our upcoming workshop with Penciljam is surely the place where you should be spending your Saturday evening.
In this upcoming workshop, artworks from the late 18th-century, once cherished as souvenirs by British travelers, will be brought to life.
The workshop will be divided into two engaging parts:
Part 1: We will begin by studying the mica paintings from the exhibition and recreate them in our sketchbooks.
Part 2: Next, we will focus on capturing our present-day society and surroundings, creating our own souvenirs inspired by the visual style of the paintings.
Please note:
You’ll need to carry your own:
-Sketchbook or A4 paper
-Pencil (wood or mechanical) and eraser
-Gel pens or fineliners for outlining
-Colour brush pens, sketch pens, or colour pencils (no wet media)
Come and join us for this artistic journey and creatively connect the late 18th-century to the present!
