Travel through the past with Dr. Pradeep Chakravarthy, author of A History of South India for Children, as he explores 5 objects from the MAP collection that lend insight into our history. A lady holding a lamp cast in the 17th century becomes a placeholder for an ancient poem on how lamps can lead us to better wisdom, how trade with Rome influenced India, and what were textiles and jewellery designs of that time. A Bhuta mask from Karnataka will link back to our connection with nature and older prehistoric rituals.

At the end of the session, children will not only have learnt about the rich history of South India, but also have a greater appreciation for South Indian art and how art and daily life came together to help people live life.
