Artist Steevez’s Last Seen, displayed as part of Vaanyerum Vizhuthugal: Roots that Reach for the Sky, is a handmade photobook that documents his relationship with his late father through their interactions on the Internet. He extends the boundaries of photography itself, beyond the existence of objects emerging out of sustained presence and interaction, rather he recognises that objects become traces of memories themselves. Last Seen thus works at the border of what is conventionally considered photography and his book is an attempt at materializing memory into a concrete form. Join Steevez as he reflects on the process of creating his photobook using images and the Internet, which enables narrative experimentation.
