Turn your waste materials into something beautiful!

In this weaving workshop, participants learn the basics of weaving using different types of looms, including circular looms, frame looms, and branch weaving. Most materials are sourced from waste cloth, encouraging sustainability and creative reuse, while wool and threads are used to explore varied textures and patterns.

Participants are also invited to bring their own waste fabric to integrate into their work.

This event is held in conjunction with our exhibition, mild tooth of milk, currently on display at the Dutch Warehouse in Fort Kochi.

Simi Mary

Simi Mary is a multidisciplinary artist, art educator, and social worker, and the curator and project lead of the India Art Project. For the past four years, she has been creating inclusive spaces for creative expression, healing, and community building especially with children and marginalized communities.

Through the India Art Project, children participate in holistic, experiential workshops, exploring hands-on art practices such as drawing, weaving, and craft-making, alongside movement, circular dances, games, music, storytelling, and theatre exercises. Most of her artworks use natural and discarded materials, reflecting her belief that creativity shouldn’t be limited by money or materials, and that beauty and possibility can be found all around us.
