Tarun Sharma is a visual artist currently living and working in Delhi. MFA(2019) graduate from the College of Art, New Delhi, India, and a research scholar in printmaking from Lalit kala Akademi (national academy of art) 2019-20. His art practice includes drawings, paintings, mezzotint prints, woodcut prints, and installations. Got his advanced training in Mezzotint (Printmaking) from Manhattan Graphics Center, New York 2020. Tarun is also one of the first SEED Awardees 2021 from the Prince Claus Funds, Netherlands, and has participated in and won many national and international biennales.
Several of his artworks are part of museum collections both in India and abroad. Tarun also received The Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India (2023). Right now the artist is working on a new body of works that questions the coexistence of humans with life around them viz, trees, animals, birds, et cetera. And this project is funded by the Hyundai India Motor Foundation under the Art For Hope 2023 Grants.
Tarun was also the visiting faculty at The Department of Printmaking, College of Art, New Delhi, and, apart from this, he takes workshops in printmaking viz, woodcut, linoleum cut, drypoint, collagraphy etcetera with his portable etching press and also he runs a space in Delhi named “Delhiartworkshop” where he teaches printmaking and take workshops, His recent ones included workshops at The India Art Fair, Cultural Chauraha, Artbuzz, Bikaner House Supported by HMIF, Workshop for 250+ Students from various schools at The Pradhanmantri Sanghralaya New Delhi, Non-Toxic workshop at The Ardee School New Friends Colony, New Delhi.
