Vidya Patel, Sanam Sheriff, Shailee Mehta
To celebrate Women’s History month, MAP invites three young South Asian artists – Vidya Patel, Sanam Sheriff and Shailee Mehta to take over our Instagram in March. Their individual practices span across painting, sketching, poetry and dance. Tune in to the takeovers to hear directly from the artists about their life, work, and creative processes!
At the end of the month on 30th March at 7:00 PM IST, we will host the artists in a multi-disciplinary roundtable conversation on Instagram Live moderated by MAP. The conversation will be an interaction between artists as they dive into their works, how they’re built by the personal histories and lived experiences of being a woman and/or gender queer, and how the places they have lived in and the spaces they occupy have shaped their practice.
Do keep a lookout on our Instagram channel as we announce the featured artists!
This event will not have Indian Sign Language interpretation. However, if you’d like to avail the conversation with interpretation, write to us prior to the event at access@map-india.org or leave a DM here.
