Capturing with Chlorophyll

Today, we’re all used to looking at our photographs on screens. Join us for an interactive session with photographer, printmaker and art educator, Arpan Mukherjee, to learn a historical analogue printmaking processes with only material from your garden. Draw your own negative, and discover how you can print it without a camera or a darkroom, to create stunningly delicate and beautiful works of art. 

Please keep ready the following materials to participate in this Masterclass: 
One Glass from any photo frame, any size
One Cardboard from a packaging box of the same size as the glass

Soft paper towels from the kitchen
Four binder clips / Cloth clips will also work
Two plastic trays / serving tray / baking tray
One glass bowl
Watercolour paper (A4)
1.5″ flat brush or a ball made of cotton
Ethyl alcohol (Alternatively Vodka will do the job)
Strainer/cheesecloth 
Acrylic sheet/OHP sheet (A4 size)- 3-4 sheets
Black Permanent Marker/Indian (Black) Ink/ Black Acrylic Paint
Various flowers/leaves from the garden

 Additional Notes:

The Masterclass will be conducted on Saturday, 14th August at 6pm (IST) and there will be a sharing session of the completed works on Saturday, 21st August at 6pm (IST).

Once you have registered for the event, you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive an additional email from the MAP Events team with the zoom meeting link on 12th August 2021.

Arpan Mukherjee

Artist and Art Educator

Arpan Mukherjee is an artist and an art educator. His works are based on documented photographic history. Arpan uses the 19th-century process of photography as the medium of his works. Presently, he teaches printmaking at the department of Graphic Art, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan.
