The Reader’s Bloc is an online/IRL group of readers taking part in reading, listening and sharing exercises around texts that help us learn more about ourselves, the identities we share and the communities we live in.
For our next session, we are thinking about well-being and how we come to hold onto ideas on what it means to be well. We are reading two texts — the deeply personal essay by Valeria Kipnis, Little Yellow Pills where she talks about her experience of coming to terms with her diagnosis of OCD, and The Yellow Wallpaper, where Charlotte Perkins Stetson looks at a woman’s experiences with postpartum depression and isolation.
This time, we’ve taken a slightly different approach by bringing in one of our esteemed collective members, Jyotsna Ramesh, to assist with the selection of readings for the session. Not only will she be contributing to the content, but Jyotsna will also co-facilitate the event. A cherished member of the OSCH collective since 2021, Jyotsana is passionate about collaborating with others to delve into art and literature discussions.
On registration, we will send you the text and the topics/themes we will discuss.
Bookings are closed for this event.
