Join us for an interactive walkthrough of the exhibition Chirag-e-AI that presents contemporary sculptures by LN Tallur, inspired by historical works from the MAP collection.

Chirag-e-AI closes this weekend, making this walkthrough by Sarada Natarajan a special opportunity to explore the exhibition through a new, exciting lens! In this ‘workthrough’, participants come together to generate a layered interpretation of the exhibition, engaging collectively and individually in a series of analytical and creative activities.

By highlighting art historical frameworks and artistic provocations, this unique walkthrough will help you find new ways of looking at the works in the show.


Sarada Natarajan

Associate Professor, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru

Sarada Natarajan is associate professor at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, working across the disciplines of History and Arts. She did her Ph.D and Masters in Arts in Art History from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat. For her Postdoctoral project at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany, Natarajan worked on theorising materiality and artistic agency in the context of medieval Indian stone sculpture.

Her most recent research project was for an interactive website on Halasuru Someshwara Temple, to be launched by Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Bengaluru. She also contributed to the INTACH team dossier that proposed Hoysala temples for nomination as world heritage sites, a document that was submitted to UNESCO by the Government of India.

She has taught in the Fine Arts and Theatre Arts departments of the University of Hyderabad for over a decade. She has also taught courses at Shiv Nadar University, Ashoka University, and Krea University. She mentored young artists and curators for three successive College Biennales of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Kochi.
