What if one could take over a museum?
We’re excited to announce MAP Teen Takeover 2025 – a programme that hands creative control to young people aged 15-18 to reimagine what a museum can be.
What do teens get to do?
This year, we are inviting teenagers to respond to our upcoming permanent exhibition Beneath the Turning Sky. Set to open in January 2026, this exhibition talks about the creation of the world and our place in it.
Participants will be part of a small cohort that is tasked with curating programmes for the exhibition that appeal to their peers. These programmes can range across art, culture, and museums to questions about the environment and human existence that the exhibition hopes to raise.
Selected participants will work with us to:
-Curate programmes specifically for teenage audiences
-Activate visitor spaces in ways that feel relevant and exciting
-Reflect on and respond to the exhibition through their own lived experiences
-Develop real-world skills in curation, programming, and public engagement
