In the second installment of our workshop series for adults called Mapping Memories With Art, we explore the concept of memory through creative writing and zine-making.

 

A Picture In Words: A Creative Writing Workshop with Sharanya Manivannan

 

This session will introduce the basic components, structures and designs of creative writing and involve participants in writing a short poem or prose inspired by the museum collection.

Fudged Fragments: A Zine Making Workshop With Renuka Rajiv

 

In this session, participants learn the basics of zine-making and create small-format zines that explore ideas of memory, remembering and imagination.

About The Facilitators

 

Sharanya Manivannan is the author of five books of fiction, poetry and children’s literature, including the critically-acclaimed The Queen of Jasmine Country and The High Priestess Never Marries.

 

Renuka Rajiv is an artist with an ongoing interest in the hand-made. They work across mediums such as drawing, stitching, paper-mache, artist books and zines.
