Exploring the creation of ideas in art, and the meanings that objects can hold within them through a specially curated and designed exhibition-workshop.
5 November, 2019 - 5 November, 2019
MAP Education Centre, Bangalore
Age Group: 7 – 11 years
Session Duration: 2.5 hours
Participating Institution: Gopalan International School
Artful Thinking brings together a selection of artworks—from different time periods and of varying mediums—exploring the concept of ‘home’. The workshop leverages the potential of encounters with artworks to discover and articulate compelling questions about the processes of meaning-making and provoke the curiosity and imaginative thinking of participants in both the arts and beyond. Entailing hands-on activities as well as interactive discussions during a walkthrough of the exhibition, the workshop attempts to develop learners’ observations, communication and critical thinking skills as well as foster self-confidence and tolerance for differing meanings and points of view.
The session is couched within a simple pre and post workshop framework, to increase participants’ engagement and learning from the visit – and includes a central creative output activity that will be completed in the classroom space.
