 Delhi’s nightlife. When smartwatches are enforced on the nightclub staff
 \, promising efficiency but raising safety concerns\, Shalini and her coll
 eagues face dehumanisation. They’re reduced to data points.\n\nThe smart
 watch becomes a symbol of control\, and Shalini must fight to retain her a
 nd her colleagues’ humanity. Rooted in observations of women in patriarc
 hal systems\, “Taak” questions the normalisation of surveillance and i
 ts ethical costs.\n\nTAAK\, along with its companion film Humans in the L
 oop\, was incubated at the Storiculture Impact Fellowship 2023\, dedicate
 d to bringing narratives of India’s digital societies to a wider audienc
 e through film. Both films are presented by the Museum of Imagined Future
 s (MOIF) — a platform that leverages creative media to explore and mai
 nstream critical topics at the intersection of technology\, society\, and 
 culture.
