DESCRIPTION:Join us for the performance Dastan-e-Sitayana by Kafeel Jafri\,
  a Dastangoi retelling of the events in various versions described in Rama
 yana — from Sita's perspective. \n\nUsing poetry\, prose and some songs
  in Hindustani language\, the performance narrates the story of Sita\; fro
 m her being found in the agricultural field in sowing season as a newborn\
 , to the one who was taken into the embrace of Bhoomi\, hence her other na
 me Bhoomija which translates to ‘The Daughter of the Earth’. Staying t
 rue to the elements of Dastangoi form\, the performance involves fantasy\,
  love\, war and wisdom inherent in the ancient story.\n\nThis performance 
 has been curated under Living Cultures\, the public programming theme for 
 the quarter and MAP’s ongoing exhibition Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chit
 ra Ramayana of Banaras.
