Painted terracotta figurine of infant form of Krishna, one of the most worshipped deities of the Hindu pantheon.

This kind of moulded and painted terracotta idol is mainly used for worship during the Navaratri festival in southern India. Characters are usually drawn from mythologies and local legends, though depictions of people from rural societies are also not uncommon.
