Each card features an armed soldier from the Indian Regiment. These type of cards, also known as trade cards were issued by tobacco manufacturers to stiffen cigarette packaging and also to advertise cigarette brands. Each pack would contain one card from the series. This was a way to encourage buyers to collect all the cards form the set, thereby enhancing the sale of the product.
