29 January, 2019 - 30 June, 2019
Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi

MAP is delighted to loan 10 artworks to the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) for an exhibition of one of India’s best known contemporary artists, Arpita Singh. Curated by Roobina Karode, the exhibition explores Singh’s prolific oeuvre over the course of six decades.

From her early textural works and drawings to heavily layered and figurative works, from small paper works to large canvases, this ambitious exhibition traces her evolving form as well as subjectivities. Pointing to the paradoxical nature of recurring symbols and motifs in her work that do not yet signify concrete meanings, it allows the viewer to experience the wonderful whimsical world Singh creates in her works.

About the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art

The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) opened its doors to the public in January 2010, as the first private museum of art exhibiting modern and contemporary works from India and the subcontinent. Located in the heart of New Delhi, India’s capital city, KNMA intends to exemplify the dynamic relationship between art and culture through its exhibitions, publications, educational, and public programs. The core collection of the museum highlights a generation of 20th century Indian painters from the post-Independent decades and the art practices of younger contemporaries.
