In Indian classical music, ragas are the arrangement of musical notes in specific sequences. The Ragamalas, literally meaning the "garland of ragas" are sets of medieval Indian paintings that represent the mood of a raga through symbols and narrative. One would listen to the specific raga while looking at the related painting to get a complete sensorial experience. Imagine this as an older version of watching a music video where music, art and storytelling all come together!
