Jangarh Singh Shyam (1962-2001) was an artist hailing from the Gond region of Madhya Pradesh. His paintings depict an array of characters associated with the Pardhan community’s oral traditions and mythological legends. He is responsible for popularising this particular style of painting, now recognised as Gond painting.
