Painted terracotta figurine of a girl. The girl is shown with her hair done up in a long braid, wearing the traditional skirt-blouse and jewellery from southern India.

This kind of moulded and painted terracotta idol is mainly used for worship during the Navratri festival in southern India. Characters are usually drawn from mythologies and local legends, though depictions of people from rural societies are also not uncommon.
