Puppet representing Aanjaneya, also known as Hanuman, a chief character from the epic Ramayana.
This puppet is made of buffalo hide with articulated limbs to allow for movement.

This form of shadow puppet theatre was traditionally chiefly concentrated in the States of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Orissa. Its characters are usually drawn from the Hindu Epics such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
